Dr. T. Vijendra Rao is a senior Rotarian and Orthopedic surgeon. His service to the community is a saga of sacrifice, dedication and commitment. He sing-handedly conducted more than 50 camps for Polio affected people amputees. He operated upon them and provided limbs and calipers. He also provided artificial limbs of Jaipur foot wherever necessary.

He covered an area of more than 1500 Sq. miles in interior villages and forest areas where tribals were living. Basic medical facilities were not available to these tribals. Rtn. Dr. Vijendra Rao made several trips to these villages and forest areas and conducted such camps. More than 5,000 people were benefited so far by his services.

In 1990 he started a Rotary Community Centre which manufactures Jaipur limbs and calipers. Till date he is the president of the Trust and is doing yeoman service to handicapped. The community centre has a manufacturing capacity of artificial limbs, wheel chairs and tricycles for the handicapped. Dr. Vijendra Rao, being an orthopedic surgeon and committed Rotarian, personally monitors and supervises the unit. More than 5,000 artificial limbs were provided to the needy people. In the year 2001, he took a boat and went into the interior islands to reach the last child. Is efforts in conducting and manning polio camps is legendary in these parts of Andhra Pradesh.
