Ms. Renuka is a student of local St. Mary's School. She met with an accident on her way to School. Her right let got crushed and had to be amputed below knee. she became disabled overnight, as a result of which she had to discontinue her studies.
Thanks to the Rotary Jaipur Limb Centre of Rotarians' Community Service Foundation of Rotary club of Kothagudem, R.I. Dist. 3150, India. She was fitted with a free Jaipur limb. Now she is not only moving freely; but also getting trained in Folk Dance and Bharatanatyam (Traditional Indian Dance).
Master Joseph Suresh, student of St. Joseph's High School, Kothagudem, was not able to move like his classmates because of post Polio paralysis. He was physically invalid and psychologically depressed. His class teacher took him and got fitted with above knee PVC Caliper at Rotary Artificial Limb Centre of Rotarians' Community Service Foundation. Now the bright smile can be seen on his face. He is very happy and moves freely.
Like Ms. Renuka and Master Joseph, more than 3,000 disabled are now able to move (walk) independently through the Limb Centre at Kothagudem, India. This Centre was established in 1990 through a registered society. The Singareni Colleries Co. Ltd., a Coal mining industry was magnanimous enough to provide space for a permanent workshop in a prime location, approachable from Bus Stand and Railway Station.
